What a week – so much happening at once, prepping one project for installation next week, finalising two other projects, starting another, interviews with candidates for our new position and finding out that our bamboo supplies is affected by the corona virus. Joseph Dirand’s new Paris apartment. ”I create space with equilibrium and a classic base”. This place has many strong influences and reminds me a lot of his previous home which I liked and it just tells he really enjoyed that one and all the things he had in their as well, very nice seeing someone at his level of interior design doing that. In all of the finishes @jennalyonsnyc chose throughout her home—the unlacquered brass backsplashes, the reclaimed & honed marble countertops, the unfinished oak floors—she wants life to be visible. “I literally had long conversations with my contractor about making sure the floors weren’t too perfect,” she says. “I wanted them to wear enough to show spills and reveal the markings of people’s footsteps walking down the hall.” It is symbolic of the honesty of life she craves. Because she’s imperfect, and she has always clung to that individual imperfection. “I’ve never felt comfortable looking perfect or being perfect; my taste is weird, and I couldn’t make a perfect room if I tried,” Jenna says.
