Danish brand Republic of Fritz Hansen has reintroduced Arne Jacobsen’s classic Grand Prix chair, but with a little twist – new wooden legs.
The original Grand Prix chair was designed in 1957. There are two different finishes available for the modern version: oak and walnut with clear lacquer or colored ash. The upholstery can be chosen from a wide range of leathers and fabrics, while the base has two different kinds of leg options: chromed steel tubes or the new wooden legs (which are my absolute favorite).
The people at Fritz Hansen wanted the new version to be a bit warmer and homey than the original one. I think they’ve done a great job, the modern version is a true beauty!
