Ditte Fischer is a talented Danish artisan reputed for her silky matte ceramics rooted in Scandinavian design tradition. Inspired by organic forms, her designs have a unique and strong expression, with smooth surfaces and timeless quality. You might recognize her Milk jug, with that sharp angle, or her Classic vase series. She also creates bowls, jewelry, tableware, ornaments and other decorative elements in a palette going from white to black, and sometimes with delicate colors. They were decidedly created to be versatile and to fit into any type of home.
Ditte’s ceramics are characterized by the Nordic simplicity: Understated elegance, with a modern and minimalist feel.
She graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1995. She has been designing and producing porcelain accessories in her eponymous studio in downtown Copenhagen since 1998. All items are carefully handmade using only the best raw materials, and following a commitment to craftsmanship.
“I believe that you can tell when someone has put the effort into the work they do. I believe that you can sense that here people (at the workshop) have put their heart into it and that people have put energy into making the effort.” – Ditte Fischer, about her passion for her craft (source).
