A gorgeous seaside mansion near Stockholm, built for businessman Erik Åkerlund in the early 20th century as a summer retreat (to host lavish parties, I imagine!), is currently being transformed and given a second life. The castle-like villa is being converted into nine exclusive apartments ranging from 60 to 130 square meters, and which will go on sale this fall. Swedish building company BTH Bostad commissioned interior designer Lotta Agaton, architects Ruxandra Halleröd from Christian Halleröd Design and Helene Amundsen to come up with the new design.
Looking at the images below, the result of this collaboration is definitely inspiring. Classic beauty meets modern aesthetics and minimalism – I’m loving it! Many original features were preserved, adding to the unique character of the place. Soft, muted tones and elegant furnishings were used throughout the place, creating a colleted, harmonious style. I find such curated, uncluttered look so luxurious and serene… Do you agree?
