This teepee-like building is the restaurant Tusen built on the ski slopes near the Helags and Skars mountains in Sweden. Designed by Swedish architects Murman Arkitekter, it was a winner at last year’s ‘World Architecture Festival’ in Barcelona.
With its open fireplaces, cosy chairs and traditional Scandinavian food, this is a definite stop after a cold day out on the slopes. The building’s discrete design with birch logs ensures that it is harmonised with the landscape and that it blends seamlessly into the scenery. Thanks to its circular form and big windows, you can enjoy a breath-taking 360 degree view of the area.
At one with nature, this is architecture at it’s very best.
