Here is a recap of my favorite discoveries and product launches from the last few days. This week I’m showing you four new furniture by top Scandinavian brands as well as a cute, miniature version of a beloved monkey.

 

Enfold Sideboard from Muuto

Muuto just launched a new sideboard called Enfold. Made of lacquered steel and oak, the new design by Thomas Bentzen has a modern industrial expression. It is available in several colorways and in two sizes.

“Enfold Sideboard came from the many factory visits that I do as a designer, prompting me to explore the aesthetic appeal of industrial objects. I wanted to translate this element into the modern home, combined with an appreciation of the Scandinavian design tradition.” — Thomas Bentzen

Carl Hansen & Søn is Launching its First Outdoor Series

The Danish design house Carl Hansen & Søn revealed at the 2018 Salone del Mobile in Milan that it will launch Bodil Kjær’s architectural teak furniture series for both indoor and outdoor use. The Indoor-Outdoor assortment includes a lounge chair, a dining table, a dining chair, a two-seater lounge sofa, a swing sofa, and a sunbed – all inspired by the Cubist idiom, which has proven its enduring visual appeal. A simple design, high-quality materials and superior craftsmanship. Available from September.

ARV Chair by David Thulstrup

Architect and designer David Thulstrup created the ARV chair for renowned restaurant Noma.  Manufactured by Brdr. Krüger, the gorgeous, elegant piece is now available to all. It is inspired by iconic Danish design and traditions, and comfort was of utmost importance for René Redzepi, Noma’s chef, when he commissioned the chair. It is available with or without armerests, in oiked or funed oak with weaved rope seat.

Beloved Kay Bojesen’s Monkey Now in a Miniature Format

Kay Bojesen Denmark revealed its latest addition to the popular family of wooden animals: A miniature version of the iconic Monkey, a design that has gained fans around the world. First produced in 1951, it now also comes in a tiny 10-cm version. It is manufactured from plantation teak and limba wood. Smaller in size, and still full of charm and personality.

Normann Copenhagen Launches the Herit Chair

Designer Simon Legald created the chair Herit for Danish brand Normann Copenhagen. Using solid oak and plastic, he wanted to combine mid-century and contemporary Danish design in its form; a versatile and accessible piece with a simple expression and draped in nostalgia.

Poul Kjaerholm’s Iconic PK61 Table in Beige Marble

The Republic of Fritz Hansen released a beige marble version of the beloved PK61 coffee table. The minimal and discrete design makes an elegant and high-quality piece of furniture with a timeless appeal.
