Helsinki was the fourth stop of my design pilgrimage last January and I had the opportunity to stay at one of Aallonkoti Apartments.
Talk about a home away from home!
As soon as I stepped into the modern two-bedroom penthouse, I wished I had planned to stay longer in the Finnish capital city. I enjoyed the apartment so much, I found myself torn between going out to maximize my 72h visit as much as possible, or staying in to lounge around and relax in the beautiful interior… Oh, dilemma! After weeks on the go, it was so enjoyable to be able to cook my own meals in the fully equipped kitchen, to hang out on the comfy couch with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, to listen to music, and to finally read all the magazines gathered during my trip.
The apartment was immaculate, and beautifully furnished with quality goods like Iittala tableware, Technivorm-Moccamaster, Tivoli audio system, Sits sofas, etc. It also had a washing machine and dryer, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, toiletries, and more – Nothing was missing; I couldn’t have asked for anything more. The team at Aallonkoti Apartments truly thought of everything to create the perfect homelike experience.
Location is also one of Aallonkoti’s perks – It is a short walk away from the main train station and the city center. Apartments of various sizes are available, from a small studio to an XL penthouse. The staff is also very helpful and friendly; I was welcomed with a smile even though I arrived passed midnight due to a late flight.
I truly had a fantastic stay and, for an instant, I felt like a local living a stylish life in Helsinki.
I will surely book with Aallonkoti when I come back to this beautiful city. Only next time, I’ll definitely include nothing-to-do days in my schedule, just to be able to hang out at “my” apartment.
