Hästens makes possibly the world’s best beds. I’ve been dreaming of owning one since I spotted the classic check pattern in this beautiful photo shoot back in 2010, which is the company’s trademark; a stamp of quality that guarantees the height of confort.

As you might know by now, I’m growing fond of earthy hues (just take a look at this interior designed by Katty Scheibeck or these pictures from Daniella Witte’s portfolio, and you’ll be convinced too!), and I was in awe when I found out about the recently launched limited edition. From 1st of September to the 31st of December 2014, Hästens beds are available in a new color inspired by the iconic ‘Stockholmsvit‘ (Stockholm White) from the 1950’s. This white with a warm and comfy greyish-yellow tone is a new twist on a Scandinavian classic, and a tribute to Hästens’ Swedish heritage. Classic, elegant, timeless.
I had the chance to sleep on an Hästens bed before; It felt like sleeping on a cloud! The beds are made entirely by hand skilled and passionate craftsmen in Köping, Sweden, using only the finest all-natural materials: Horsehair (Hästen means ‘horse’ in Swedish), flax, cotton, wool, pine… An impressive 140 hours go into the production of one single mattress. A true work of art.
