Fabriken Furillen is a unique hotel located on the peninsula of Furillen on Gotland, Sweden’s largest island. It is a former factory that photographer Johan Hellström began converting into a hotel and restaurant in 1999. He came across the then off-limits area when searching for photo-shoot locations, and fell in love. This unexpected location offers a unique landscape, somewhat of an alien world that evokes mystery, inspiration and exquisite, breathtaking beauty; post-apocalyptic-chic perhaps?
Now in the hands of super-stylish Swedish hotel brand Nobis, Fabriken Furillen has luxurious rooms that highly contrast with the raw, untamed Scandinavian nature – Hästens beds, Bang & Olufsen TVs, cast-iron fireplaces and reindeer hide rugs. The restaurant offers up all that locally-sourced, foraged goodness. It is also possible to have your wedding at this ultimate industrial location.

Super blog! Some great designs.
It’s really great to see how diverse in style and design fireplaces are becoming. They really become a centrepiece in a room and can turn a house into a home. There’s a great variety of fireplace accessories, that can really give that fireplace those finishing touches that set your fireplace apart from the rest.
