The goal was to create a place where people would gather and mingle together, and interact with the bar and kitchen, so the layout was kept fairly simple with an open plan space and views of the equipment and cooking stations.
Lindvall worked with the existing elements like the concrete flooring, exposed ducts, ceiling, and steel framed windows, to create a monochrome interior with a pared-back look. Stainless steel and light grey engineered wood complement blend in perfectly, some black and dark brown accents were added for contrast.
“I wanted to build around the original details, only adding a few other materials to accentuate and compliment the simple and industrial feeling of the space,” says Lindvall, whose work also includes the gorgeous Usine Restaurant, among others. “When the sun comes through the windows and reflects on the kitchen it makes the steel warm and throughout the day it gives different effects depending on how light travels.”
The bar stools are from Swedish company Massproductions, and the cylindrical pendant lamp is from Roll & Hill.
