Helsinki has seen the arrival of a new player in town with the opening of the luxurious hotel St George, and “a new chapter has begun” for the Finnish capital city. Located in the heart of the city in a historic building underwent meticulous restoration, across from the beautiful Old Church Park, this modern and elegant hotel is all about experiences and #momentsaremore.
“Hotel St. George offers its guest more: More moments of wellbeing and extraordinary details, which combine privacy, silence, beauty, inner harmony, and inspiring art and food experiences.”
The hotel is much more than a place to stay for a night. Yes, it boasts 148 individually decorated rooms and five suites, but also an art gallery featuring the work of Ai Weiwei and Pekka Jylhä, among others, a Wintergarden finished with a glass roof to make the most of daylight, salons for dinner parties and other festive occasions, a bakery, a spa, a gym, a bar where you’ll find “zero waste cocktails and playful surprises”, a Monocle shop -the first one in the Nordic countries-, and a fine dining restaurant with food by internationally acclaimed chef Mehmet Gürs.
A member of the Design Hotels group and part of the Kämp Collection Hotels, this new establishment in Helsinki is a world where art, design and culture meet; a luxurious urban space for your mind, heart and body.
I can’t wait to visit! I am seriously excited about this place, and a trip to Finland is now high up on the wish list. In the meantime, I am really enjoying the St George Journal, filled with interesting articles about the hotel, as well as the Finnish culture, design and architecture. I definitely recommend it.
