The new Pure Black knife series from Stelton is designed by Danish interior and furniture designers Sebastian Holmbäck and Ulrik Nordentoft, who work under the name HolmbäckNordentoft.
The concept is simple yet brilliant: Matte black knives. Elegant, functional, and at the cutting edge of good design! Pure Black knives are forged from one piece of stainless steel so their handles morph effortlessly into their blades. The straightforward design and special coating make the knives very hygienic and easy to clean.
The series won the prestigious Scandinavian design prize, the Formland Design Award Spring 2011:
“Over the years, the award committee has seen many knives, and for a knife to win the Formland Design Award calls for an exceptional product. Pure Black is such a product, almost serving as a prototype for how modern and stylish knives should look. Each knife in the series is made from a single piece of dark stainless steel that forms both the blade and the handle and sits exceptionally well in the hand.
