Elsternwick House is the latest residential project of one of my favorite design studio outside of Scandinavia, Melbourne-based Fiona Lynch. She is well known for her artistic approach to interiors and lasting aesthetic, and this home is no exception.
The space within this historic Victorian home was re-imagined by the talented designer and her team, with “respect for its past and vision for its future.” They created a calm interior with a luxe mood, thanks to highly edited materials and custom details, as well as furnishings: sculptural lamps by Serge Mouille, a refined dining table by Pietro Russo and elegant Charlotte Perriand chairs. I like the occasional jewel-toned accents throughout the space. The dining room’s soft blue walls, floor-to-ceiling velvet curtains in a deep shade of tobacco, brown marble fireplace and black baseboards, make an unexpected but fabulous combination. Contrasts, refinement, harmony, and character – I love this place!
