IKHA Restaurant

, , , , By Catherine

Designers have been customizing furniture from Swedish giant IKEA to create their own spaces for a while, and now design firm Oatmeal Studios have extended the idea at the Filmhuis in The Hague, to create a dining environment that’s as varied and flexible as the menu.

Open ’til 30th July, the IkHa restaurant in The Netherlands’ third largest city sees patrons selecting more than just their main courses. Within a pop-up, fold-out two-metre square dining area, diners can create their own environment by ordering individual tableware, and choosing their own tablecloths and mats from tear-off rolls. Tasty idea.
