Give your Home a Quick Makeover and a Nordic Vibe with these 17 Affordable IKEA Items

The home featured on NORDIC DESIGN yesterday has a very similar style to what one of my previous e-decorating clients wanted and, as many of you often write to ask me how to update your home without breaking the bank,  I thought I’d share some details of this interesting project.

The client was looking to quickly makeover her small apartment and to add a Nordic vibe. She wanted products that had a timeless appeal aesthetically-speaking; easy to mix with her existing furnishings and with whatever trend(s) she would eventually be into in the future. She also had a few challenges:

– She lived in a remote area with a no home décor stores
– She needed to get everything real fast
– She had a tight budget

We agreed that the best option available to us at the time was to shop all under one roof, and IKEA obviously came to mind. I am not a fan of buying everything from the same brand, as I find that it doesn’t make a home feel very personal and well-curated, but in some situations (like my client’s), it is obviously very convenient and time saving.

After exchanging some thoughts and ideas, I came up with a shopping list to help her get the look she wanted for her home. Below you’ll find a slightly edited version, as some products were not available anymore, so if you liked the style of this apartment, here is how you can recreate it:
