London-based design studio Doshi Levien, composed of designers Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, has recently created lovely jewel-like mirrors for Hay.
The collection features 13 different mirrors that have geometric shapes reminiscent of gemstones and jewels: diamond, oblong, octagon, drop and circular shapes. The mirrors can be styled in groups to create wall installations with a wow effect.
“The shapes are coming from a meeting point between Indian tribal culture and modern geometric abstraction,” Jonathan Levien told Dezeen. “The forms were thought of as jewels for the wall, as constellations or sentences of different shapes. (…) The larger mirrors are designed to offer face-height reflections, whereas the smaller ones are like satellites to accompany the larger mirrors, or to be used in numbers simply to bring glimmering light into the space”.
These gorgeous mirrors are made of laser-cut glass with aluminium frames finished with a black powder-coat. Definitely an eye-catcher in any room!
