The colourful tableware Taika designed by Finnish artist Klaus Haapaniemi for Iittala is now available in black and white. The collection includes bowls, cups, mugs, boxes, plates, and more. New shapes are being added to the series, and the pattern was also slightly revised: “I have played around with (the animal characters) —the fox has for example curled up into a ball.” Haapaniemi also explains: “To me, the shape dictates how the pattern is used. I was inspired by Art Nouveau style compositions, where the pattern is in a controlled collision with the shape of the dish.” – Source
