13 Questions to Promising and Talented Designer Kenyon Yeh

Kenyon Yeh is a name to remember. The Taipei-based designer graduated from Kingston University in London in 2009 and has since worked for a handful of international clients, creating furniture, lighting and products for the home. He actually designed the very popular YEH wall table for Menu, which is on my wish list. I’m telling you, we should all keep an eye on this promising designer – I’m sure we’ll hear more of him in the near future!

I am pleased that he agreed to answer a few of our questions!

1. Tell us more about yourself. 
“Born and grew up in Indonesia. Trained in design major in Taiwan and London. Now I’m based in Taiwan running my design studio and my new design publishing house Esaila.

2. Best thing about being a designer:
Always thinking of a new idea every second.

3. What inspires you?
Everything I see and met

4. What is your design philosophy?
Simple and clean

5. Any special projects at the moment?
Looking forward to share some design suggestions to clients

6. You, in three words:
Friendly, funny and hard working

7. What is the best advice you ever received and from whom was it?
“Never stop learning” -nMy lovely Dad.
“Be healthy and don’t eat too much” – My lovely Mom.

8. Dream subject/assignment/collaboration?
Long vacation with my girlfriend!

Family, friends and iMac

10. If you could invite somebody for dinner, famous, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
My grandparents, I have lot of things to share with them

11. Best Scandinavian city and why:
Hope to visit soon.
