In her studio in Oslo, Cathrine Kullberg is busy designing and assembling her increasingly popular ‘Norwegian Forest’ lights.
She uses thin strips of birch in which she carefully cuts her pine forest pattern with a laser, and then sews by hand the shell together with natural leather lace. Her approach is definitely a new take on traditional crafts, as Scandinavians have been using birch strips for lighting years ago.
When lit, her lamps have a warm glow and the delicate forest motif allows the light to pass through. Gorgeous!
