Moneyphant with babies

In 1987, Danish industrial designer Jørgen Møller created an elephant-shaped bottle opener with his grandson for Georg Jensen. It was a hit with both kids and adults, so the designer decided to transform the same shape into a money safe in 2010.

For 2011, Swiss designer Alfredo Häberli debuts the next generation of Moneyphant. Literally, his design features two small elephants that nest within a larger one. The small elephants are made of solid oak and fit like a puzzle piece into the original polished stainless steel form. Häberli is known for his combinations; they are slightly unexpected, but always harmonious.

I just fell in love with this Moneyphant. Maybe some day i’m able to buy her and her kids.

How can anyone resist the sleekness of this design. I love elephants and it makes me think I could have the big Mama and my little son can have the mini!
