Cafe Laundromat

By Catherine Lazure | Nordic Design

The concept is simple, but ingenious: Eat, read and wash.

Cafe Laundromat promises what the name implies: Here you can do your laundry while enjoying a nice meal or a coffee. They offer free wireless internet and over 4000 books for you to enjoy. Plus: They are sponsors of Save the Children and Doctors without Borders.

It is a very charming place with an interesting retro style, old telephones, and cozy old-style furniture. We really like the teal and vintage wood combination. That yellow Jielde lamp also makes quite a statement.

Even if you don’t have dirty laundry, it is still definitely worth a visit next time you are in Oslo!

just came across your blog through decor8. LOVE IT! As a fellow canadian, I completely envy that you have lived out your dream in Scandinavia. I had a chance to visit Denmark and sweden last year and i totally know what you mean about the Scandinavian culture and lifestyle. They ARE the happiest people on earth – i hope Canadians can learn a thing or two about it.

got to check out a laundromat cafe in Copenhagen and i loved the concept.

Yes! I am going to Oslo in a fortnight and will especially roll around in some dirt to make sure that I have some washing to do! What a great concept and totally funky interior.
