“100 designers for 100 new toy cars” is an international project led by 100% ToBeUs. One hundred designers from around the world were asked to build their own interpretation of a wooden toy-car, which should be made from one wooden brick.

You can still view on the website of 100% ToBeUs the very cool collection of cars created by 100 talented designers, including Jaime Hayon, Alfredo Häberli, Marcel Wanders and e27 Berlin, among others. Below are the designs from Swedish trio Claesson Koivisto Rune with Bookbus; Finn Harri Koskinen‘s Lorry; and FRONT from Sweden with their Offcut car.

“TobeUs was born as a vent of a designer who become father and could not stand the view of his own children using toys just for a few hours and then destroying them or stopped looking at them. According to Matteo Ragni the easiest solution is giving children the possibility to love an object. So it is obvious to choose the right material, with a recognizable smell, an unquestioned resistance to impact and texting, and, when the time comes, a dignified end: recycling or reutilization. This is how the idea of TobeUs was born: toy cars made of cedar wood, strong and sweet-scented, beautiful and clever because planned by skilful and passionate designers.” – Read more.
