Danish worldfFLEXhome is sustainable housing setting new international standards. It will be the first prefab housing system that meets the low energy consumption Class 1 requirements.
World flex home is a Danish consortium that develops modular, flexible homes. They create housing concepts that focus on energy, climate and environment, and that can be adapted to individual needs. The houses are designed to produce more energy than they consume, and to withstand earthquakes.
World flex home offers innovative environmental solutions as flexible building envelope, green roofing solutions, solar energy, terrace roofing and heating / cooling systems.
A first house was initially built in Denmark for the pilot project, and another ‘test house’ will be constructed in the Chinese city Wuxi, as a part of a large development-project with a total of 45,000 m2 located 28 km’s East of Shanghai. The project started 2 years ago at the Danish Institute of Technology Projektet Institut. During this developing period , the partners behind worldFLEXhome got together and initiated the collaboration with more than 20 danish partners – including large Danish companies like Velux, Isover, Junckers, Cembrit, HTH og Jeldwen. The architect-designed homes meet the requirements of the international Active House cooperation, which ensures proven healthy indoor climate. Click here to read more.
