Wackerhaus was founded in 2003 by the young designer Trine Wackerhausen, an alumnus of Stockholm’s Beckmans School of Design. The brand has since made its debut on to the Danish fashion scene and has become a favorite among a new generation of young, Danish designers. Her latest collection will be presented on Friday, February 5th at Copenhagen’s Fashion Week 2011.
“My work is a delicate balance of playful extravaganza, soft femininity and strict simplicity. I strive towards making clothes that are both luxurious and comfortable”, says Wackerhausen. “To me fashion is art but it is also important that my designs are wearable and practical… of course with a strong dash of refined and feminine elegance.”
Highly inspired by contrasts, Wackerhausen presents with great creativity strong silhoutettes with lightweight materials, a hint of femininity and subtle elegance. Her collections are meant to be classic statements to be used across seasons.
“Despite complementary materials and a versatile approach to silhuette, Wackerhaus succeeds in delivering a clean cut and cohesive look, which on one hand expresses a certain masculinity and on the other a fragile and feminine side of contemporary women’s fashion.
