This is not exactly a trend per se, but I decided to include it in my series anyway because Radiant Orchid is the colour of the year 2014 according to Pantone:

I’m personally not a big fan of this bright hue for my home décor, so here’s my take on the shade of the year: Deeper shades of plum, mauve and aubergine, which are fresh and interesting, and not too feminine.
