The Shop Directory is a curated guide to online shopping, and features my favourite online retailers.
I make it a personal mission to find the best boutiques of the web and to share to share them with you, while helping out entrepreneurs by giving them some of the visibility they deserve (read more about my motivation to launch the Shop Directory here). The shops featured in the directory all have been selected for their uniqueness, quality, style and product assortment. You’ll discover fantastic designs for your home that can be shipped right to your door. It’s design shopping made easy!

Here are five totally awesome shops I recommend you visit today.

Huset Shop

Why I like it: Huset is our first sponsor ever – For the last three years, the owner, Holly has been a supporter of Nordic Design, and we are proud to have earned their loyalty.

Huset, which means “the house” in Swedish, Danish and Norwegian, is a one-stop shop for the best in modern scandinavian design. Huset features the work of more than 60 scandinavian designers and has a thoughtful collection of clean, clever, and contemporary items for modern living.

Grøn + White

Why I like it: A new Toronto-based shop selling the best of Scandinavian Design, from both well established brands such as Menu, Ferm Living and Normann Copenhagen as well as independent designers such as Silke Bonde, (By) Garmi, Hanna Konola and Magdalena Tyboni – Their assortment is constantly expanding. And with free shipping across Canada, let’s go shopping!

Örling & Wu

Why I like it: A beautiful shop filled with so many handpicked, wish list-worthy items, with a focus on quality and timelessness. It is a trusted source of design-led gifts and homeware in Canada. Their goal is to bring pleasure through simple products that work well, are affordable and look beautiful. They also have a lovely philosophy to investing in design: Don’t follow a trend, follow your heart…

Why I like it: You’ll find beautiful handmade and unique Swedish jewelry with a timeless style. The owner, Eva-Lotta S. Dahl, has been designing jewelry for about eight years now; it started as a hobby after moving from Sweden to the US, and it turned into a a great little company! She is influenced by the simplicity and forwardness of Scandinavian Design and she likes to experiment with different styles and materials: Semiprecious and precious stones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, beads, silver, gold, waxed linen cord and leather.

Need Supply Co.

Why I like it: A brand that started in 1996, selling a unique collection of vintage pieces, is now an online and Richmond-based boutique selling a well-edited assortment of contemporary designers and independent labels from the U.S. and abroad. I like the simplicity   of their clothing, the fantastic jewelry and beautiful home accessories.
