Very creative and resourceful interior designer Tanja Jänicke carefully transformed this Helsinki apartment into “exactly what she had in mind”. She designed herself the kitchen, the dining table, and a few other pieces in her home. With an obvious penchant for white, black and natural materials, Tanja created a modern home with simple lines and a rustic touch. We like how the interior is refined and yet, quirky at times (hello, seagulls). Notice how the white walls and high ceiling creates a frame around the gorgeous mural in the kitchen, which was painted by Anna Retulainen. Beautiful.

What a beautiful apartment. I love that there’s an Aarnio pony! And funny how Haliburton cases always end up with so many more stickers than regular suitcases.

Hi Celia,
I have no clue… But it looks like it could be an easy DIY project: Fatboy cushion + Ikea bed legs + a wooden palette. What do you think?

Hi!
It is from French designer Serge Mouille. I suggest to search on auction houses’ websites (lauritz.com is a good one), or to search flea markets.
Good luck!
